NESCILRIET

"Nescilriet" was written as a commissioned composition for the 900th anniversary of the village of Nesselried (D). The composition is divided into 3 large parts, each describing the past, present and future of Nesselried. In the first part, which represents the past, the legend of the Black Knight is told. He is said to have made unwary hikers faint at a late hour. As soon as they woke up, they saw a beautiful virgin in front of them, but they were paralyzed. Only when the bell of the village church rang for the first time in the morning, the spell was broken and the wanderer could move on.
The middle section is about the present, where the anniversary is celebrated with a lively fanfare.
And the rocking final part is dedicated to the proverbial future, i.e. the young musicians. For example, all the names of the current young musicians are hidden in the rhythmic passages.
