EXCITA!

Excita! (latin imperative for "to excite") is a solemn opening work. Despite the type, it begins in piano and reaches only after a minute the first climax. During this beginning, the main theme is introduced by the baritones and then passed through different registers, until it rings out in tutti. In the calmer middle part, the tension relieves somewhat and a lyrical secondary theme comes along. Finally, the main theme is picked up again and leads into the exciting Finale.

Excita! was commissioned by the Musikkapelle Lengmoos (I) for its 200th anniversary and performed first on 1st April 2018.
