DECENNIAL OVERTURE

DECENNIAL OVERTURE was commissioned by the Brassband Pfeffersberg. The reason for this was the fact that the annual South Tyrolean concert tour of the Brassband in 2010 already took place for the 10th time. Decennial Overture was premiered in January 2010 as part of the concert tour under Bernhard Reifer. The 12-minute, difficult work consists of 3 parts. The first one is a kind of fanfare with different solo parts and rhythmic interjections. The quiet middle section contains a solo for soprano cornet and lives in return to the first part mainly from filigree changes in dynamics and timbre. The final part on the other hand is again fast and hectic and takes up again the motifs of the first as well as finally the middle part.
