Armin Kofler was born in 1981 in Bolzano (Bozen) in South Tyrol, Italy. When he was five years old, his father began to teach him to play the keyboard. At the age of nine he started playing the Trumpet at the local music school. Since 1996 he has been a member of the musical society of Lengstein. Practical experience in the band and studying many scores inspired and enabled him to write his first work, A New Age, which premiered in 2001. From 2002 to 2004 Armin Kofler attended the band direction class of the Association of Wind Bands South Tyrol (Verband Südtiroler Musikkapellen). Since then, he has written more works for wind band and other wind ensembles.
